Accountability Agreement

Accountability Agreement

Focus: What do you want to accomplish in this class or during this year?

1. I would like to finish the semester with at least an 75% or better in this ENG 4UE course.

2. I would also like to learn how to complete a proper essay, using the form that Mr. Murray is going to give us, so I can get at least 75% or better on every exam I write.

3. While in this class, I would like to learn how to write, and read lyrical devices effectively.

Contributions: What contributions will you make to this class or to the school this year?

1. To this English class, I will contribute my creativity; I will use all my creativity in this class so I do well, and learn a lot.

2. I will also contribute my humour, and fun self to the class. I will be kind and funny, so others will enjoy themselves.

3. I will also contribute my productivity to the class. I will attempt to work hard at everything I do, so that others around can work hard also.

Accountabilities: For what will you be held responsible?

1. I will be accountable for being a mature and well spoken student, who does not play around in class, and does their work.

2. I will be accountable for being respectful, and nice to others around me and treating everyone with respect.

3. I will be accountable for listening attentively to everyone in the class, and also considering the opinions of everyone in the class.

4. I will be held accountable for completing all of the assigned homework, and handing it in on the date that was specified by the teacher.

Supports: What help, and from whom, will you need in order to achieve your accountabilities?

1. I will need the support of Mr. Murray to help me understand any of the homework or assignments given.

2. I will need the help of Stuart Gendron to explain any work that I do not understand, or any work I need help with.

3. I will need the help from Jayme Bedell, if any of the supports above cannot help me, I will need her to further explain any work we need to do so I can understand it.

Measurements: How will you know what success looks like?

1. When I have gained a credit in the course, and see the 75% or above average on my report card, I will know I have succeeded.

2. When I am successfully able to get a 75% or better on every exam I write, I will know I succeeded.

3. When I am able to understand lyrical devices effectively and do a good job with it, I will know I have succeeded.

4. When I have completed all assignments, and have done a good job, as well as hade the feedback from others of being a good respectful student, I will know I have succeeded.

Consequences: How should you be rewarded if you succeed? How should you be punished?

1. If I succeed, I will be awarded with a credit in the ENG 4UE course.

2. If I do not succeed, I will be punished with not getting a credit, and having to re-take the ENG 4UE course either during summer, or during the next school year.

3. If I succeed, I will be able to enjoy the rest of my year without having to worry about re-taking the ENG 4UE course.

4. If I do not succeed I will be punished with having a really bad summer because I will have to take the ENG 4UE course during the summer, so I will have a lot less time to spend with my friends and do fun stuff that I would have wanted to do.
